TBA Group is part of a multi-national group of companies and promotes a creative and dynamic work environment is looking to recruit a Software Support Engineer on a permanent basis in Doncaster. TBA Group produces market leading, large-scale, distribution and supply chain software products used by customers worldwide and is aiming for further substantial growth over the next 5 years.

We are proud to have a truly global customer base who operate across logistics, warehousing, terminals, and ports, 24/7. This role will provide support to the Automation project team in Software and Hardware support for the automation systems installed at customer sites within the UK and potentially abroad and the hardware for low level automated technology.

What are we looking for?

You will primarily work on supporting Automation Software projects in automation department and will work alongside an experienced Software Engineer. In addition, you will provide customer support for automated system solutions using both remote connection and being onsite within the UK and abroad as required.

  • In-depth knowledge of PC Hardware and Software (Windows, Office, etc).
  • Antivirus definitions and security updates deployment.
  • Basic knowledge of networking and device communication.
  • Some experience of C#/VB.Net software development.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL Databases.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Onsite installation, testing, commissioning & go-live support
  • Customer training
  • Generation & maintenance of documentation: functional specifications, manuals, project technical files, training and health & safety documentation, and test plans.
  • Onsite support
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving software and hardware related issues
  • Being first point of contact via phone, email, and customer portal
  • Log and manage support incidents in the Service Desk management system
  • Managing customer liaison, proactive feedback, and customer queries from ticket creation to resolution
  • Call triage and priority escalation within Automation team when required
  • Creating knowledge articles and conducting training for the service desk team
